"Evoking the rhythmical gnarliness of The Sensational Alex Harvey Band, Gamages' 'The Loss of Gamages Model Train Club' sounds like a cage battle between Belle and Sebastian and Arcade Fire held in Nick Cave's living room..."
Artrocker Magazine, UK
2009 sees the debut release from Gamages Model Train Club, a seven-piece band from Brighton & London seemingly preoccupied with songs about death.
The truth, of course, is never as simple. In these stories, Gamages Model Train Club are continuing a strong tradition of telling tales of those who fall foul of reckless misadventure, or as fitting punishment for their crimes, or even simply encounter forces beyond their own mortal reckoning.
Drawing inspiration from rock, folk, indie, country and rockabilly, Gamages Model Train Club sound at times like Nick Cave, Frank Black, Green on Red, Johnny Cash, The Replacements, The Doors… and yet more besides.
The debut album, “The Loss of Gamages Model Train Club”, will be released on the GMTC’s own Tiger’s Head Records label, and is available to buy on iTunes, Amazon Mp3, 7Digital and more from Monday 26th January 2009.
