Combining the rough-hewed folk of the Deep South with English inspired lyric writing (think The Smiths, Arctic Monkeys and Pulp) Gemstone Heist craft timeless melodies and lyrics with bite and wit.

Gemstone Heist was formed after Ashley (from Kentucky, USA) and Gail (Liverpool, UK) started talking online about favourite bands and artists they had long admired. The next logical step (or illogical considering the distance between them) was to start writing together and form a band. Thus Gemstone Heist was born, after many long plane journeys and swapping of recordings and ideas across the net.
They cite influences from The Beatles, Stone Roses, The Strokes, The Smiths, Arctic Monkeys, MGMT, Ladytron, folk music, and many hours of listening to classic indie music and pop.
