Brazil-born Gil began taking trombone lessons in 1981, guitar and piano in 1995, was the leader and played with an electro-industrial band over the rest of the 90's.
When the 2000’s arrived, Gil became interested in e-music like psychedelic goa trance, chill out and electro, and from there began experimenting with electronic means of sound production, sound track and djing.
Since then Gil played at most of the important parties and festivals of the Brazilian trance circuit such as Trancendence, Tranceformation, Ypy Poty, EarthDance, Daime Tribe, Klatu, Universo Paralelo, Ceara Music, megAvonts, Orion, Tribe, Solaris and many others…

In 2004 he took part of the BOOM Festival as Mukunga Umbura Live Act and in 2006 djing at Ambient Village.
His downtempo/groove set is made of different styles like electro, tribal, funk, ambient journey. At the dance floor, Gil likes to experiment new sounds and tendencies playing tracks that he swaps with many of his friends as well as music supplied by other labels. The major characteristic of his set is the psychedelia and diversity easily adapted to the place and public that he plays for.
Mukunga Umbura is Gil’s psy trance project. It has released its first album by the Italian label Inpsyde Media in 2003, as well as few tracks by Trancers Guide To The Galaxy, Ajuca Records, Wajanga Records, Solar Flares, Ketuh Recs. as well as few downtempo tracks by Brazilian label Batida Sossegada, MBB Records and Azul Music.
Gil owns his own recording label, Dutch Flowers Records, which releases some of his own albums, as well as others by Polygon, Mukunga Umbura, Creatrix, etc.
