Goldenhorse's debut album Riverhead was released in October 2002. Over the following 18 months, various singles from the album started to be played on the radio and the band played live throughout New Zealand. Sales of the record climbed slowly then steadily and in August 2004 the album reached no.1 on the NZ national charts.
"Out of the Moon" was released in 2005. "Reporter" was released in 2007.
The band has not said it has split; the time-out is described as a hiatus with Morrell releasing a solo album in 2010 and King debuting Grand Rapids in 2011.

Maybe Tomorrow
Goldenhorse Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
We all leave and let go
There is nothing to hold us
In a moment of time
When the fruit becomes wine
And the thought becomes the memory
All of your sorrow
Maybe tomorrow
Will fade away in the air
Trying to please me
Making it easy
It won't be there
It won't be there
In your life
In your life
The lyrics to Goldenhorse's song "Maybe Tomorrow" suggest a certain level of melancholy and acceptance towards the idea of letting go. The line "We all leave and let go" speaks to the inevitability of change, and the notion that we must come to terms with the fact that everything in life is temporary. The use of natural imagery in the line "When the fruit becomes wine" highlights how moments of beauty and joy can transform into cherished memories over time.
While the lyrics speak to the inevitability of change and loss, there is also a sense of hopefulness found in the refrain "Maybe tomorrow, all of your sorrow will fade away in the air." This suggests the possibility of a brighter tomorrow, where pain and sadness can be left behind, and life can begin anew. In the end, the song seems to be about finding peace and acceptance within life's joys and sorrows, and understanding that everything is fleeting.
