Biography
Michael, Grace, & Jesse met at the Texas State University School of Music in San Marcos; Michael studied guitar, Grace voice, and Jesse was music minor/anthropology master. After many years of traveling with different bands they met Alan Eckert - multi-instrumentalist & North Texas music alum. The band lost their dear friend and backup singer Stephanie Bledsoe in a tragic accident on her farm in August 2013. The Deer first formed in early 2012 with the making of their debut album, An Argument For Observation, engineered by Michael McLeod at his own Nine Grey Clouds Studios. The album features over 20 players and singers including Trevor Smith (Wood & Wire), Dennis Ludiker (Milk Drive), & Doctor Sick.

Grace Park (formerly Grace Rowland) is best known for her work with Austin trio The Blue Hit. With Michael McLeod (Good Field), Jesse Dalton (Green Mountain Grass), Alan Eckert (Dimitri's Ascent), and some frequent guest performers such as Dennis Ludiker and Noah Jeffries (Milk Drive), she has found a bold new avenue for her original songs. Their debut album, An Argument For Observation, is available on CD Baby, iTunes, Amazon, and bandcamp.
