Hector’s great grandfather was a bandeonist and composer, and his grandfather, also a great bandoneon player, introduced Hector to the world of Tango and the bandoneon. By the age of 17, Hector Del Curto had won the title “Best Bandoneon Player Under 25” in Argentina, and was invited to join the orchestra of the legendary Osvaldo Pugliese, the “Last Giant of Tango.”
Since then he has performed with many notable musicians from the world of Jazz and Tango, such as Astor Piazzolla, Pablo Ziegler, Paquito D’Rivera, Gary Burton, and Joe Lovano, as well as with symphony orchestras and ballet companies worldwide. He directed the spectacular Broadway show “Forever Tango” and founded Eternal Tango.
Since 2003, Hector Del Curto's Eternal Tango has appeared as a trio, quintet, and 10-piece orchestra at major venues throughout North America, performing both traditional and contemporary Tango at its finest.
