Hello Mexico recorded their debut EP 'I Am The River' at Outhouse Studios in October 2009. The EP was a digital-only release.
The band then spent the next five months writing and chose three new songs to record in March 2010 with Dan Lancaster. These songs made up the release 'Five Twenty Seven'. The new songs showcased a much more experimental and progressive edge, choosing to lose the aggressive nature of their previous material in place of a more restrained, melodic and delicate approach. The three songs were released digitally and physically in June 2010. The songs showcased an experimental and progressive edge - coupled with melodic and delicate textures. The three songs were released digitally and physically in June 2010. A release of a digital single, ‘Sleeper’, then followed in October 2010.
In May 2011 and after several lineup changes, the band released their five track self-titled EP as a limited free download release to the first 1000 downloaders. The EP was supported with a UK tour with Kyte in September 2011 and several shows in the first part of 2012, including a headline London show in January and a support slot with This Will Destroy You in April.
