The Way I Am
Ingrid Michaelson Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning | Line by Line Meaning
You need a light, I'd find a match
'Cause I love the way you say good morning
And you take me the way I am
If you are chilly, here take my sweater
Your head is aching, I'll make it better
'Cause I love the way you call me baby
And you take me the way I am
I'd buy you Rogaine
When you start losing all your hair
Sew on patches to all you tear
'Cause I love you more than
I could ever promise
And you take me the way I am
You take me the way I am
You take me the way I am

This song makes me feel like I have to drink coffee, wear a scarf, and walk in slow motion.

Scarves are a non-driver’s friend in the cold. If it’s cold for you car-drivers, it’s COLD in all caps even if you turn the heat up at home and bundle up, for non-drivers! Cars are warm and toasty. This song has a non-driver-on-purpose vibe too!

My sisters all love Ingrid. Now that they've all left, I find myself listening to her music because,
1) I'm just now realizing how great it is, and
2) It reminds me of them, helps me feel like they're here or something.
So, my love for Ingrid and my love for my sisters brought me here.
