After Midnight
J.J. Cale Lyrics

After midnight
We're gonna let it all hang out
After midnight
We're gonna chug-a-lug and shout
We're gonna 'cause talk and suspicion
Give an exhibition
Find out what it is all about

After midnight
We're gonna let it all hang out
After midnight
Gonna shake your tambourine
After midnight it's gonna be peaches and cream, hmm
We're gonna cause talk and suspicion
Give an exhibition
Find out what it is all about

After midnight
We're gonna let it all hang out

We're gonna 'cause talk and suspicion
Give an exhibition
Find out what it is all about

After midnight
We're gonna let it all hang out
After midnight
We're gonna let it all hang out

This man is NOT in the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame.  Travesty.  He is one of the most outstanding contributors to the great American Songbook.

I'm not sure he's the type of guy that gets inducted to the hall of fame, especially when you look at how many incredible artists, past and present still aren't on it.
It's sort of like being a really good center or even guard in the NFL. It doesn't how much you support the other players, how much you contribute, how many blocks you make so the skill players can score, etc., it's gonna be an uphill battle to convince people you belong in the Hall, especially when as a offensive linemen, you don't really have the "numbers"/stats that skill players have(yards, catches, TDs, completed passes, average yds per carry, etc.)

Yes ... certainly 'tis ...!!!

Kinda like Ry Cooder status in that regard (although not sure if he's been inducted yet forgive me if wrong - in sure any musician famous or not would agree),,, if Rys not inducted that's a travesty but not surprising he was even more mainstream underground to the public anyway ☮️

He has been a silent one, never used his elbows . Great musician who didnt give a damn about such things .Greetings from Vienna, Austria

I couldn't agree more. One of the few musicians I never got to see in person.

The more I listen to this record the more I like it. Very chill. Great music to kick back and blaze a few trees.

Everyone in the world loves JJ Cale - he was multi-talented - humble - creative and cool and he left the world with no fanfare - RIP JJ Cale

I love his version much more than Claptons. What a groove these Tulsa guys laid.
