To date he has released three split singles and a three song E.P. Often compared to Hood, Sigur Ros, Talk Talk, and Radiohead, Jacob's Stories is best described as semi-electronic indie rock.
Live, Stuart sometimes appears with a band, other times as just a two piece, and sometimes just on his own. In the past he has played shows with Hell is for Heroes, Cave In, Hundred Reasons, City and Colour, My Latest Novel, Instruction, Stephen Brodsky, Johnny Truant, Hood, Minus The Bear, The Paper Chase and Adem among others. Stuart's debut album 'Fledgling' is available by mailorder worldwide and is in discerning shops now.
Jacob's Stories can have a mixed cast of characters when they play live, but ultimately it's the work of one man. Stuart Lee has been skirting around the periphery for quite some time now, with the odd release here and the odd one there. But now this Brighton-based balladeer has finally completed his debut full-length and it's simply stunning. Mixing sparse instrumentation with Lee's haunting vocals, 'Fledgling' is a truly captivating album - slotting into your record collections somewhere between Aereogramme and Radiohead circa 'Kid A'. Now, Thom Yorke does have a solo album out this month too, but if you've got any sense you'll spend your money wisely and get this record instead. Essential stuff.
