The band was formed in 2002 from pupils at a suburban secondary school. The original lineup was Matt Dixon (trombone, vocals), Adrian De Fanti (piano), Jesse Kennedy (clarinet, saxophone), Andrew Power (trumpet), Sam Bailey (drums) and Dale Vanden Driesen (double bass and vocals). Their first CD, Marvellous, was recorded in 2003.
After 2003 Jesse Kennedy left the band and was not replaced, however Adrian De Fanti took over occasionally playing the saxophone and clarinet.
Notable engagements of the band include a residency at Pescare restaurant in 2005, feature spots at the Queenscliff Music Festival in 2005 and 2006 and performances at the Beelgara Estate winery Easter picnic in 2006 and 2007. They have also performed at festivals across the state.
In August 2007 the Jazzenodians split. Their second album (Tradulous!) was released shortly afterwards.
