The Power of Love
Jennifer Rush Lyrics
The whispers in the morning
Of lovers sleeping tight
Are rolling by like thunder now
As I look in your eyes
I hold on to your body
And feel each move you make
Your voice is warm and tender
A love that I could not forsake
'Cause I'm your lady
And you are my man
Whenever you reach for me
I'll do all that I can
Even though there may be times
It seems I'm far away
Well, never wonder where I am
'Cause I am always by your side
'Cause I'm your lady
And you are my man
Whenever you reach for me
I'll do all that I can
We're heading for something
Somewhere I've never been
Sometimes I am frightened
But I'm ready to learn
Of the power of love
The sound of your heart beating
Made it clear suddenly
The feeling that I can't go on
Is light years away
'Cause I'm your lady
And you are my man
Whenever you reach for me
I'm gonna do all that I can
We're heading for something
Somewhere I've never been
Sometimes I am frightened
But I'm ready to learn
Of the power of love
Ooh, the power of love

Lot of couples bought this song and liked to listen to it,I think. A few years later I was working with a couple of Ugandan Asian guys, part of the lot that got kicked out by Idi Amin, and one of them loved this song,it was one of his very favourites.

of course they are, the 80s when the ongoing Cold War at its zenith, the looming ever presence threats of nuclear war between NATO and Warsaw Pact and all those destruction, calamities, miseries, pains that promised to come with it, were so real that everyone during that tumultous decade got to had to always ready to part from they loved ones, or simply to die, motivated people to tried so hard to live their life lively, there were no time for squabbles, people back then were into relationship left and right... simply because they knew all to well, Death were breathing down their necks...
in the constant verge of extinction, total annihilation, creativities blooms and soars, turned most people into a poet..
and found its way into love songs...
a romantic and not so romantic..
