On a dusty nook is Costa Azul, with its stray dogs wrapped with mange, and its local legends like the old haunted house and the taxi driver that offers you free transportation and leaves you at the Jardín Cemetery. In this Mexican northwest town, in Tijuana, Jesús Mora was born.
His life hasn't always been in Costa Azul, when he was 5 years old, Jesús and his mother moved to Orange County, California. They lived there for close to 10 years. There he learned to play guitar, and piano.
At the age of 15, he moved back to Tijuana. His father, a long route driver, had a car accident and became paralytic. Jesús Mora returned to the old Costa Azul nook, to help in the care taking of his father. He started working at the engineering department of Ibero University, as a janitor. Of all places and circumstance, this is where he was introduced to electronic music. He played keyboards in an industrial band for about two years until he earned enough for an Apple laptop and then started to lock himself up in his room to create music. Since then it is the tradition of Jesús Mora that looks for the equilibrium between the solitude's peace and the joy for observation and experimentation of exteriors, with its sea of rhythms, faces, and incomprehensive attitudes.
Jesús Mora continues living in Costa Azul, although he's connected with Orange County and San Diego. He is constantly exploring and bouncing between the two Californias divided by one insipid, pathetic and sensless border.
