Have You Heard
Joni James Lyrics

Have you heard who's kissing him now
Do you think he's blue
Did he say we're through
Has he found someone new

Have you seen the way he looks now
Does he act the same when he hears my name
Does he say who's to blame
My arms are empty
My nights are long and lonely
I miss him so
Each new tomorrow can only bring me sorrow
I love him so

Have you heard of their wedding day
Rumors come and go
Still I'd like to know
If it's true won't you tell me
Have you heard

Have you heard of their wedding day
Rumors come and go
Still I'd like to know
If it's true won't you tell me
Have you heard

My sister Joni was named after Joni James when she was born in 1954. My sister passed away in 2012 at the age of 57. I loved her and the name my folks picked because of this fabulous singer!

Eric--Damn,  Your post is good.  That you honor your sister is radiant and mentoring for all of us here...My parents, My father was WWII vet,  thought Joni James was a younger upstart singer but we had 78 rpm records of her songs...

Lionel, that was the time of my birth. I just discovered Joni James the other day. I will explore her catalog. Her voice is pure and pleasant.

@Pastor William Barhorst The song "Hound Dog" was only four years old when Elvis recorded it.

Lionel Kinney I was treated in that very same Hospital Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego when I fell through a hatch on my ship while at sea that was supposed to be closed. I was flown off my ship The USS FLORIKAN ( ASR - 9 ) AUXILIARY SUBMARINE RESCUE AND SALVAGE in 1977 I was born in 1955 but I was raised listening to music starting with the Big Bands, the likes of Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, watching Lawrence Welk and Mitch Miller while living with my Grandmother and some early blues, and then listening to Doo wop and Rock N Roll because of my Mom and her brother my Uncle Nick, and learning all the dances and watching Dick Clark American Band Stand! I love all kinds of music and I'm selling my entire record collection, many unopened vynal and the rest played maybe once and put back in the album cover. email me if interested [email protected] I'll email you the entire collection list. I'm considering doing a live auction from my home to raise funds to help homeless Veterans across this country which I was homeless for 10 years because it took me 15 years fighting for social security disability and I'm still fighting for my military connected disability since 1977! I'm now being treated at the Veterans Hospital in Philadelphia Pennsylvania I live in Chester Pennsylvania 14 Miles south east of Philadelphia. Joni James paved the way for many female singers many I've had the pleasure of meeting like Connie Francis. I loved music and know many songs that were made famous in the 50's and 60's were done many years earlier, like several Joni Jane's did were rerecorded by the Duprees that became great Doo wop hits like Have You Heard, You Belong To Me, Why Don't You Believe Me,
we're just three of them rerecorded by tge Duprees. Elvis Presley had rerecorded many hits that were old blues songs like Hound Dog, If everyone did some research on hits and songs like I do, they'd see and learn so much about the history of music. I love taking old songs and change tempos just like what was done with many songs Joni James songs were made hits by many other artists years later. She never got royalties from the Duprees or any other artists that rerecorded her songs.

I was in the army hospital in Tokyo in 1953 and someone had a radio and we listened to Joni James all the time. Hearing her now sure brings back some memories.

Lee Nelson

I was at Tachikawa AFB just outside of Tokyo in the mid 50's with her music.
