Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas
by Judy Garland

Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Let your heart be light
Next year all our troubles will be out of sight
Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Make the yuletide gay
Next year all our troubles will be miles away

Once again as in olden days
Happy golden days of yore
Faithful friends who are dear to us
Will be near to us once more

Someday soon we all will be together
If the fates allow
Until then we'll have to muddle through somehow
So have yourself a merry little Christmas now

Let this singing of Judy Garland be a lesson to those contemporary singers who tend to oversing this song. Judy Garland was famous for her powerful voice, but for this sentimental and self-encouraging song, she sings so tenderly and masterfully, respecting the original intention and the mood of the song. My hat's off and my bravo over the rainbow !

@Rocco Ritchie I'M not sure what you mean by Hilarious. Then again if it's an insult, who cares. It just proves you have no taste, or ear.

Best version ever.

Arthur thank you so much for your perfect commentary of why Judy Garland's performance of this song is the most moving -because of its tenderness-I look forward to many more insights from you

“Until then, we’ll just have to muddle through, somehow”. This song always makes me cry.

Yep same here.

She doesn't say just have to muddle through, she says we'll have to muddle through. This is the all-time greatest version ever. It depicts the sadness of having to move.

so beautifully sung. That note, brings tears to my eyes as well.
