February 14, 2000), better known by his stage name JUMEX (also known as goodnightm4rk), is a musician coming straight out of Chicago, Illinois. He was born in Brookfield & raised in Countryside. His father is German and his mother is Mexican. He currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
His name comes from the drink "Jumex," which is a Mexican drink. He chose the name because it was his favorite drink when he was younger, it was the only drink he and his friends could afford when he was 12 years old.
JUMEX first went viral with a semi-trending video of him smoking in his algebra class screaming "Worldstar," he ended up getting a court case and being suspended for ten days. He dropped out from Lyons Township High School shortly after this. According to the video of him smoking you can see his teacher call him by his name "Mark." He performed at Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival and is signed to COR/TAN Records.
He started making music when he was in high school. Growing up in the suburbs outside of Chicago, JUMEX’s influences ranged from David Bowie to Nirvana to Yung Lean, and way more. His first release, "TRAPPED," speaks to these diverse influences. On this addictive track, he unleashes a ton of energy while maintaining a composed flow.
Two months later into the new year, "LONER" is released. The song is melodic and stretches from alt rock to emo rap – capturing teenage angst while embracing isolation. With the reactions that have stirred since the release of "TRAPPED," "WISH ME DEATH" is an eerie follow up. He brings back the intense energy from "TRAPPED" but increased tenfold.
The debut of his singles prove JUMEX is an artist to watch as he continues to release genre-bending music.
On June 7, 2019, JUMEX would release his debut EP, LONER. 5 months later, JUMEX would return to release his second official EP, LOVER.
