Simmons began his recording career with Sun Records in 1958 ([1]). He performed as an opening act for Elvis Presley ([2]).
He had his biggest success with Hi Records in 1964 with the #11 Billboard chart hit, "Haunted House".
His last opus was "Indian Outlaw", which he co-wrote, and which became a 1994 hit for Tim McGraw.
