Green Jewels
KRIILL Lyrics
I came across what seems to be you
In a shell
The feeling was not exactly different
Nor really the same
You're standing there, a face on your shame
With green jewels
If we make believe and I believe you
Who would be the fool?
With green jewels
Who would be the fool?
With green jewels
If you're wrong then
Who would be the f-
Your eyes once were blue but now they're fading
Green they go
Look at you suffering from a syndrome
No one knows the cause
I used to pray for you to get through
With green jewels
If we make believe and I believe you
Who will be the fool?
(Who would be the fool?)
J'sais pas c'que j'fous
Who's the fool and who's in charge?
Qui du fou ou qui du sage?
If you're wrong, then what am I?
Si je me trompe c'est quoi les bails (Bails, bails)
Ça rend fou rester sage
Who's the fool and who's in charge?
J'y vois flou, c'est quoi les bails
If you're wrong then who would be the fool?
With green jewels
Who would be the fool?
With green jewels
If you're wrong then who would be the fool?
We will go, with green jewels
All the way
Who would be the fool?
We will go, with green jewels
All the way
If you're wrong then who would be the fool?

Okay okay, so I'm horrible at piecing together stories but here's my opinion on the meaning! 🤩
These two are happy together until the obvious tragedy of losing their child. I feel like maybe the snake was a symbol of omen, when it slithers into their home. I think they begin grieving in different ways, although the wife wanted support and love from her husband, he was angry at the world and lashing out at everything else to forget about the pain of their loss.
I think some time passes and they drift apart during their grievance and acceptance of the loss, and she begins to question who she truly married when he strikes down the hawk from outside. Maybe the hawk is the symbol of who he was before the tragedy? I want to believe that maybe she felt like she could bring him back from the darkness he was living in and that he wasn't totally lost in anger and violence, so she wanted to confront him head-on. I think she was hopeful he wouldn't murder someone outright and maybe wanted to test that boundary? Again we see him play the snake card- another omen that things aren't going to play out well... And she plays the hawk card. I believe to remind him who she knows he is deep-down. Unfortunately he truly loses his way and ends up murdering his wife, and then realizes he's destroyed the one pure thing in his life in addition to the only chance he had at redemption. 💔
I LOVE THE SONG AND THE ANIMATION, GREAT JOB EVERYONE!!

I think actually that the Hawk and the Snake are their spirits or analogs for them. He is the snake and she is the hawk. their eye colors match and then at the end when she is shot the snake also kills the hawk, that's why the feather falls. So, maybe a metaphor for a toxic relationship?
