Slow Burn
Kacey Musgraves Lyrics
Born in a hurry, always late
Haven't been early since '88
Texas is hot, I can be cold
Grandma cried when I pierced my nose
Good in a glass, good on green
Good when you're puttin' your hands all over me
I'm alright with a slow burn
Takin' my time, let the world turn
I'm gonna do it my way, it'll be alright
If we burn it down and it takes all night
It's a slow burn, yeah
In Tennessee, the sun's goin' down
But in Beijing, they're headin' out to work
You know the bar down the street don't close for an hour
We should take a walk and look at all the flowers
'Cause I'm alright with a slow burn
Takin' my time, let the world turn
I'm gonna do it my way, it'll be alright
If we burn it down and it takes all night
It's a slow burn
Mm, whatever feels good
Ah
Ah
Ah
Ah
Mm
Old soul, waitin' my turn
I know a few things, but I still got a lot to learn
So I'm alright with a slow burn
Slow burn
Slow burn
Mm, I'm alright with a slow burn

She fulfills her responsibility as an artist with an innate gift: to find the esoteric words and music to say things that we want to say, but can't. For many of us we knew she was dialed in from the first note of this song, but when she sang,
"Old soul,
waiting my turn
I know a few things but I've still got a lot
To learn".
it floored us.
Thank you, Kacey. A lot of us understand it all a little bit better now. .

Kacey has attracted a lot of people who aren't into country music including me I love her!

@Name That just means he hit a nerve…or you joined YouTube 1 sec ago.

@D nah, he’s right. If she’s trying to convey what you claim, she didn’t pull it off in what is otherwise a good song. It’s an artistry issue, and the hatred comes from you, btw…
Ester Hudson
@scottysols yup. That part was just off.
Ester Hudson
@DC lol. Y’all just slow….woo whoo! Let’s move to Nashville!!😁
Ester Hudson
There’s a not so veiled insult if I ever heard one. Maybe you’re just slow…

This song is awesome. I have listened to it over and over. It never gets old. One of this songs that gets stuck in your head and your happy because it does.
Good Guitarist
This record plays like a modern classic. I love the acoustic tone on the guitar.
Chelsea Who
Pay attention to the trifecta in music. Has to have beats voice and meaningful lyrics.
