She spent her teenage years writing songs on the acoustic guitar and playing local all-ages shows. After moving to Oxford, Mississippi, for college, Kate began to pursue music as more than just a hobby. Suddenly amongst a thriving local music scene, Kate helped form the adored band, Reels, as the primary songwriter and rhythm guitarist. After it disbanded, she continued writing songs in earnest, developing a rare and unique sound all her own.
Now twenty-four years old, Kate Teague’s debut full-length album will be released this fall on the Mississippi collective Muscle Beach Records. Both intimate and grand, the song places Kate’s powerhouse vocals in the midst of swirling guitars, a perfect introduction to a bold new voice.
