The Dance
By Kurt Bestor
Dance for me as the memories start to mellow,
Like the photos torn and yellow start to fade.
Please dance for me
And before the curtain closes,
Will you pirouette and take us both away, away?
Just dance.
Dance again like that little girl in braces,
On every stage she graced us with her smile
And as she danced, just like one of heaven’s angels,
She puts on her goss’mer wings and then flies, she flies
Chorus 1:
And moonlit beams will follow you
On a stage that fills the sky.
Morning child so full of grace,
Lift the sun to light each day,
Soft winds sing,
Please dance for me
And call you safely home.
Take my hand come draw me in
and we’ll fly away we can fly away,
Just dance.
Time is gently calling out my name
And the colors of my life begin to fade.
As the seasons pass before me,
The end of this man’s story
Can never be completely told
Till once again so gracefully,
You dance for me.
Take me in from winter’s wind
And cover me with dreams before I sleep.
I’ll always be sitting there among the angels
When the curtains start to rise
And the melodies reprise,
I’ll be watching you my little girl just dance, just dance
Chorus2:
And moonlit beam will follow you
on a stage that fills the sky.
Take my hand come draw me in
and we’ll fly away, we can fly away,
Just dance, Just dance...dance.
