Rock singer-songwriter-guitarist Laurie Geltman formed LAYNE in 2006 after … Read Full Bio ↴Rock singer-songwriter-guitarist Laurie Geltman formed LAYNE in 2006 after moving to LA from the East Coast and recording Up From Down (EP) with producer Michael Eisenstein of Letters To Cleo. The goal was to begin anew in LA and focus on strong songwriting with hopes to land songs in TV & Film. Up From Down is at times heart-wrenching rock and often brilliantly melodic. There is plenty of truth, grit, beauty and attitude in this one-off project that points to Geltman's long road from the clubs of Boston to Hollywood Boulevard. Before the album was released, the song "Milwaukee" was a top 10 finalist in the performance category of The International Songwriting Contest and an earlier acoustic version was used in a promo on Wisconsin PBS. A remix later appeared in the Women Composers Series: Phenomenal Women, Vol. 6 under her own name. Geltman is currently recording a new indie rock album in LA under her own name and collaborating with writers and artists world-wide in multiple genres on music for all media.

This song is by me, Laurie Geltman. LAYNE Putnam is another artist and she has nothing to do with this song.. I had a project band called LAYNE from 2006-2011. At some point she came to LA and started a band as it is her real name,. Nonetheless, CDbaby messed up at distribution and that ep was for some time on her YT channel and various other online stores.
