In 1997 the band released its first eponymous album, which was very successful and earned them lots of radio and TV air play and album sales. In 1999 they recorded "Kaleidoscopio", selling over 5,000 copies. Then the band took a hiatus due to the departure of Michel Maluje to Mexico, where he played with Julieta Venegas. In 2005 the band (now including Rodrigo Velasco) returned to the studio to record "Distinto". After that release, the band decided to go their separate ways. None of the two last albums had been as successful as the first one and their hype began to die out.
Francisco Valenzuela released a solo album named "Sirenas" in 2009 and from 2017 onwards he continued to play some gigs under the name "La Rue Morgue" with some of his students in Escuela Moderna de Música, a private music institute in Chile in which he worked as a teacher. On july 7th, 2022, Valenzuela was admitted into the ICU after suffering a stroke. Seven days later, on july 14th, his death was confirmed.

Sobre mi piano se desliza tu mirada
Se amanece tu cabello rojo
Tus labios de mujer sutil
Maga te descubrí sin querer
Entre rayuela la lluvia
Y parisenses humedecidos escuchando jazz
Cortázar no sospecha
The lyrics of La Rue Morgue's song Blues A Dos Mujeres describe the enchanting beauty and mysterious allure of two women, Tori and Maga. Tori's red hair and sultry lips catch the singer's attention as her eyes slide across his piano, while Maga is discovered unexpectedly playing hopscotch in the rain, surrounded by jazz music-loving Parisians. The two women leave an intoxicating and unforgettable impression on the singer, leaving marks wherever they go that make him feel alive. Together, the three of them imagine a world where they can fly on infinite melodies that were born long ago. The imagery and poetic language paint a beautiful and mesmerizing picture of the two women, and the impact they have on the singer's life and imagination.
