One third of underground heroes The Three Amigos and beat maker to the stars, the time has come for Leafdog to add his debut solo release to an already bulging back catalogue of crew releases, live plaudits, guest features and production credits.
In a world where reinventing and re-evaluating everything has become standard practice, Leafdog is an example of an artist who remains dedicated to the principles that make underground hip hop one of the most exciting forms of musical expression on the planet. Leaf is a true devotee to the inventive punchlines, catchy hooks and classic boom bap beat patterns. From stage to street corner, from digging in the crates to beat battles, Leafdog’s output is driven by the traditions that made underground hip hop what it is today.
Either as a solo artist or as part of The Three Amigos, alongside fellow emcee BVA and producer Naive, Leafdog has gained a strong following across the land for coming with a truly unique style when delivering some of the realest lyrics around. His unique outlook has seen Leaf and his gang support a long list of renowned artists on the live circuit including KRS One, The Godfather of Noyze Rahzel, the almighty Sugar Hill Gang and DJ hall-of-famer Cash Money, and names such as Foreign Beggars, Skinny Man, Klashnekoff, Terra Firma, Million Dan and Blak Twang from this side of the pond.
It is one thing performing on the same stage as such illustrious names, but Leafdog does not stop there. Having turned his attentions to beat making three years ago, Leafdog has already racked up a hugely impressive list of collaborations with all star names such as Rass Kass, Kool G Rap, Vinnie Paz, Killah Priest, Canibus, Q Unique, Buddha Monk, and Kurupt blessing his beats.
And if all this wasn’t enough… High Focus Records is proud to present the release of Leaf Dog’s debut solo release ‘From A Scarecrow’s Perspective’ dropping June 13th 2011. Features include Rampage (Flipmode Squad), Diamond D, Fliptrix, Verb T, Kid Genius & Assa, with Naïve, Leafdog and Ghosttown on production credits. Do not sleep on this modern day classic!

on Love Is Love
can you be loved and get loved lust,
still remain friends and get mugged off
they got you thinking that money was the real cos'
7 to the pound, hit the dagger with the silk bluff
I got love for the fans though
who the fuck's promoting us if isn't the stand but
I wanted NPCs you wanted gambos, I'm the number 1 head bang, ur just rambo
It's a paradox, watch here come ya flux for your tanner spots,
as they mow them up, wait for you to flop.
The real arse in the struggle, best part what's the hustle, note the empires that are rubble.
Hard to find a double of the realness, the type of thing you really can't buy
you just feel this, had to find a definition but we still miss ...
had enough bad times trying to reveal this
can you be loved and get loved?
have faith in the cause and just trust.
When they've had enough you know it ain't us
when love's lust, they ain't trying to discuss... X2
Man are scared to put their shit out, are deep in the cot with their dummy bout to spit out
try tell them the truth and they'll probably just flip out, love ain't ever coming back home...
like when you're dad tried to nip out...
That's life stop cryin' bout it, all i really need is love don't wanna die without it
people stuck in shit they never getting over, tryin play the badman acting much older
when you be soft as shit, lost a bit, a few offended then you're probably it
it's hard to eh-blip... we all need the manner, more need to stand up,
even if the truth don't add up but...
In your 20s balling if you've got hoes, reach 50 you be looking like weirdoes
they don't sell love, they just sell hate, so think about it carefully before you change fate.
can you be loved and get loved?
have faith in the cause and just trust.
When they've had enough you know it ain't us
when love's lust, they ain't trying to discuss... X2
