Los Lonely Boys Lyrics

Save me from this prison
Lord, help me get away
Cause only you can save me now from this misery
I've been lost in my own place, and I'm gettin' weary
How far is heaven?
And I know that I need to change my ways of livin'
How far is heaven?
Lord, can you tell me

I've been locked up way too long in this crazy world
How far is heaven?
And I just keep on prayin', Lord, and just keep on livin'
How far is heaven?
Yeah, Lord, can you tell me?
How far is heaven? (Cause I just gotta to show some faith, yeah)
How far is heaven? (Yeah, Lord, can you tell me?)

Tu que estas en alto cielo
Echame tu bendicion

Cause I know there's a better place than this place I'm living
How far is heaven?
So I just got to have some faith and just keep on giving
How far is heaven? (Yeah, Lord, can you tell me?)
How far is heaven? (Cause I just got to know how far, yeah)
How far is heaven? (Yeah, Lord, can you tell me?)
How far is heaven? (Cause I just gotta know how far)
I just want to know how far

I was so touched by Brett's comment and all the beautiful, heartfelt and loving responses! We YouTubers are pretty doggone awesome ya!

FYI I'm a Texan - living next door to San Antonio in Austin when the song came out and catapulted Los Lonely Boys to love love those sweet Boys!

I got goosebumps at how you described, witnessed your Mother "flying away" - that your faith and belief gave you the words.

When I was 7 years old I lost my dad - he took his life - and when somebody dies in that way there's a lot of questions etc we all know what a tragedy it is when people leave the earth in such a manner - and then I was 35 with my mother was taken suddenly with cancer.

I say all this because a few years after my mother's death when I was about 40 I came across this wonderful poem that answered a lot of questions for me about the meaning, or grief, of losing parents (and other loved ones). Questions like where do they go - will we ever see them again etc, Those existential yet oh so spiritual questions 🤫

Here is the poem. Thank you for prompting me to recall it.
My parents were probably in on that as well -- and I got to tune to l the presence of my Mom and Dad's spirit enveloping me 💖.

"Do Not Stand At My Grave And Weep"

Do not stand at my grave and weep; I am not there. I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush I am the swift uplifting rush

Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not there. I did not die.

Thanks for attesting to your Mother's dynamic existence - her presence! IMHO that's how we get the answer to "how far is heaven" Blessings to you and blessings to Los lonely Boys for asking the question.

@Cody of Houston not saying she should feel like me but to bring up others comments is not necessary.. could’ve definitely said it’s a banger and left it at that..
