Caruso
Luciano Pavarotti Lyrics

Poi all'improvviso uscì una lacrima

Confondono i pensieri

@Gyl Souza
Hi Gyl.
Just checked out Zeze following your recommendation.
I viewed five different Caruso clips of his in order to treat your recommendation with respect.
He was AWFUL!!!!!!
Even the clip where Julio is with him in a live studio is terrible. Julio just looks embarrassed to be there, and sings Zeze under the table.
I have to say I really cannot take your recommendation seriously, but I did at least give it a go.
Zeze is a Karaoke singer AT BEST. Whilst I totally support your right to express an honest and genuine opinion, I fear you have lost all possibility of securing credibility when it comes to an
opinion regarding a composition of the magnitude of Caruso.
No intent to be rude, just saying.

may I suggest the following translation? :) let me know what you think

Here, where the sea sparkles
And the wind roars
Before the gulf of Sorrento
After having cried,
a man hugs a girl,
clears his voice
and resumes his song
I Love you very much,
Very, very much, you know
It is a bond by now
That curdles the blood in me, you know
He saw the lights in the sea
And thought of the nights in America
But they were only fishing lights
And white foam rushing behind the boats
He felt the pain in the music
And stood up from the piano
But when he saw the moon appear from a cloud
Even death seemed sweeter
Staring at the girl’s eyes
Eyes as green as the sea
A tear suddenly flowing
he felt he was drowning
I Love you very much,
Very, very much, you know
It is a bond by now
That curdles the blood in me, you know
The power of songs
Where each drama is made up
A little make up and playing
You can be someone else
But when two eyes stare at you
So close, so true
You forget the words
And become confused
Everything becomes small,
even the nights in America
You turn and see your life
Rushing like foam behind a boat
And yes, life ends
But he didn’t think of that
Rather, he felt happy
And resumed his song
I Love you very much,
Very, very much, you know
It is a bond by now
That curdles the blood in me, you know
I Love you very much,
Very, very much, you know
It is a bond by now
That curdles the blood in me, you know

One of the few humans who can give me emotion from a song. What a legendary performer.

Jon Michael

You are human. Not sure where that ridiculous and sort of distant thing came from. Humor? Not really funny. Lol.. Kind of comes off as edgy and it's pretty cringe.

Kaloyan Todorov

you need to feel the emotion in order to express it..thats the legendary that almost no performer nowadays has...money doesnt give emotion trust me..youre very right

Hoovy Tube

Seeing him get older when watching his clips back to back makes me emotional. What a powerful voice, truly a once in a million talent, and even further, one of the genuinely best operatic voices.

To give some more context to the lyrics (even if it's probably unnecessary):

This is a song written by Lucio Dalla (an Italian songwriter) about Caruso, one of best Italian tenors to ever live, not to mention Pavarotti's idol. Caruso had a very difficult life but managed to gain fame in the United States, which the song mentions (the nights in America). At one point in his life Caruso's wife left him, leaving him heartbroken, but only a few years before his death due to an illness he met another woman and fell deeply in love with her.

This song is about him singing to his newfound love on a terrace in Sorrento, thinking about his difficult life and how love makes even the encroaching death feel sweet.
