He has been writing and composing his own music since he was a teenager in the peace and quiet of his bedroom, and this resulted in many DIY-recorded albums.
In early 2015 he signed a recording deal with Universal Music Group, becoming the first solo artist from Serbia to have an exclusive contract with this worldwide music corporation. His debut single D-Generation was released along with a music video in February 2015. D-Generation and another single Holding on to Love is included in Luke's first Extended play Thorns, released on 18 September 2015.On 18 December, he released his double single Jingle Bell Rocks / Nebula Lullaby, including a cover of Jingle Bell Rock and song Nebula Lullaby, previously self-released single from 2014. Immediately upon the release of his new single titled Demons, which was shortlisted to represent Serbia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016, he embarked on his first tour in China. He further released singles Walpurgis Night and his cover of Olive Tree during 2017. The single Frankensteined with Majed came in late 2019 and in 2021, he released the extended play F23.8.
In January 2023, he was announced as one of the contestants of Pesma za Evroviziju '23, the Serbian national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 with the song "Samo mi se spava". On March 4, "Samo mi se spava" won the selection, receiving the most points out of sixteen finalists, making him the Serbian representative for the contest in Liverpool. In the grand final, on May 13, he performed fifth and ultimately finished in 24th place.
Post-Eurovision, Black performed at two sold-out headline shows in London and released a single, the Lily Allen and Nirvana inspired "I'm So Happy", in August 2023. In November, Black released another single, "God's Too Cool", a bass-heavy dance track produced by fellow London-based musician Shurk. One month later, Black returned to Serbia for a sold-out concert at the Belgrade Youth Center, on the same stage where he first performed live 10 years prior. A number of his artist friends performed together with him for this occasion, including Konstrakta, the Serbian representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2022.
