Ajax is most known for making videos on the popular website YouTube analysing songs and performances by the British rock band Queen, along with other artists such as Led Zeppelin, Michael Jackson and The Beatles. Ever since he created his YouTube channel in January 2019, Marc has gained 27,900 subscribers and over 11.3 million views (as of July 2020). Some of his top videos include “Who sang "Bohemian Rhapsody” the best?" with 1.5 million views, “Who sang "Immigrant Song” (Led Zeppelin) the best?" which has 1.8 million views, and “Adam Lambert, Marc Martel & Freddie Mercury – High Notes Comparison” with over 901,000 views.
Ajax then started uploading covers of songs, particularly by Queen, on his channel which were much loved by viewers. He created a Spotify profile which started growing on February 26th 2020 and has been releasing covers on the page ever since, recording the instrumental and harmonies himself. These covers include Marc playing either the guitar or the piano.
“I’ve been studying singing since I’m 17 years old – almost exclusively with opera singers as teachers”, stated Marc on his official website, “so I focus on classical technique, even if it’s not the genre I enjoy singing the most. I just apply the technique into ballads and rock”.
