Her first song to be recorded was "Moon Ride" by the jazz singer Chris Connor in 1958, while she was still in high school. Later, there were two hit versions of the Margo Guryan-penned "Sunday Morning" released a year apart in the late 1960s — the first by Spanky And Our Gang, and the second by Oliver (who had previous success with "Good Morning Starshine" and "Jean").
Although she preferred writing songs that others could record and perform, in 1968 Guryan recorded and released an album entitled "Take a Picture". Although the success of this record back then was limited, it has since become a much sought-after collector’s item.
"Take A Picture" was reissued in 2000 by Franklin Castle Records. A collection of demos entitled 27 Demos is also available.

Why Do I Cry
Margo Guryan Lyrics
Why do I cry?
On a Sunday morning
After Saturday night, was such a wonderful night
I should be glad,
Be glad that I could spend one night awake with you
Why do I cry?
When I have my coffee after you disappeared
It seems like almost a year that I′ll be sad
So sad to only spend one night awake with you
One night awake
To live and to love and to speak
That isn't enough for the way that I suffer and more
Six days before
Why do I cry?
On a Sunday morning
After Saturday night, was such a wonderful night
I should be glad,
Be glad that I could spend one night awake with you
Why do I cry?
On a Sunday morning
After Saturday night, was such a wonderful night
I should be glad,
Be glad that I could spend one night awake with you
Glad that I could spend one night awake with you...
Glad that I could spend one night awake with you...

Why do I cry?
On a Sunday morning
After Saturday night was such a wonderful night
I should be glad
Be glad that I could spend one night a week with you
Why do I cry?
When I have my coffee
After you disappear it seems like almost a year
That I'll be sad
So sad to only spend one night a week with you
One night a week
To laugh and to love and to sleep
That isn't enough for the way that I suffer and bore

I just wanted to say hello to everyone who listen to Margo Guryan. I discovered her music about a year ago, It was winter, late afternoon, I was taking a bus, it was already dark and feeling blue but I randomly end up listening to her. I felt sad when I discovered she was already gone. But she left us beautiful music and makes me happy to see other people enjoying it too! I hope one day I can buy a vinyl or a cd because once I couldn't remember her name and I was scared I could never hear her music again! Hope you all have a good day or night!

I lost my best friend 2 year ago form sucide, I relate this music so much, it’s heartbreaking that’s I was crying everyday even that I was having happy time after that ( with other friend/alone/familly). If she was still alive I would sing her this song, I miss so much, I am grateful for Having her in my life. ( don’t forget y’all to take care and talk to somebody if ur not feeling well or else <3 )
