Nothing Left To Lose
Mat Kearney Lyrics
Something's in the air tonight
The sky's alive with a burning light
You can mark my words something's about to break
And I found myself in a bitter fight
While I've held your hand through the darkest night
Don't know where your coming from, but your coming soon
To a kid from Oregon by way of California
All of this is more than I've ever known or seen
Come on, and we'll sing, like we were free
Push the pedal down, watch the world around fly by us
Come on, and we'll try, one last time
I'm off of the floor one more time to find you
And here we go
There's nothing left to choose
And here we go
There's nothing left to lose
So I packed my car and headed east
Where I felt your fire and a sweet release
There's a fire in these hills that's coming down
And I don't know much, but I found you here
And I cannot wait another year
Don't know where your coming from, but you coming soon
To a kid from Oregon by way of California
All of this is more than I've ever known or seen
Come on, and we'll sing, like we were free
Push the pedal down, watch the world around fly by us
Come on, and we'll try, one last time
I'm off of the floor one more time to find you
And here we go
There's nothing left to choose
And here we go
There's nothing left to lose
I can still hear the trains out my window
From Hobart street to here in Nashville
I can still smell the pomegranates grow
And I don't know how hard this wind will blow
Or where we'll go
Come on, and we'll sing, like we were free
Push the pedal down, watch the world around fly by us
Come on, and we'll try, one last time
I'm off of the floor one more time to find you
Come on, and we'll sing, like we were free
Push the pedal down, watch the world around fly by us
Come on, and we'll try, one last time
I'm off of the floor one more time to find you
Come on, and we'll sing, like we were free
Push the pedal down watch the world around fly by us
And here we go
There's nothing left to choose
And here we go
There's nothing left to lose

@Thompsongs Never thought I'd find anyone either. After many attempts at being a Christian (mostly by trying to perfectly obey all laws and beating myself up for inevitably failing), five years ago I began to truly understand God's love and ridiculous ability of forgiveness. And I loved Him for it.
Some of my behaviors changed, some didn't. But He changed my heart, Bro. Taught me how to love myself and others too.
I had given up on relationships. It was hard enough to take care of me! But check this: I was contacted by the girl I was first smitten by after changing schools in 10th grade (25 years earlier). We'd never dated. She hadn't a clue how i perceived her. But God did.
We dated for a year or so. Went to church together. Discussed how God had been there for us through it all . . . even TWENTY PLUS years worth of being obstinate toward Him, and how He was flipping out about our return to Him.
We've been married for 29 months now. And I am CONVINCED that had I not found His love first, I'd never be telling our beautiful love story. He knew the desires of my heart. My NEW heart. And because I honored Him, He honored that!
"Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends." Revelation 3:20 (NLT)
He knocked for years. I hid in my room. And when I answered, He wasn't tired from knocking, or pissed from my hiding. He did what He said He would. He invited me in. Made me his friend and family. And gave me my very own family as well.
Much love!

I move to Tennessee from California, this was the first song that came in the radio as we drove away from our home. I miss CA.
