All the words run dry
Walls are breathing hands are reaching up
To touch my thigh
No they don't have to take you away
No they don't have to take you away
No they don't have to take you away
No they don't have to take you away
Sometimes it's bright inside my head
Just like the spark in my eyes
And hands are breathing ones are reaching up
Cause that's the time we rise
No they don't have to take you away
No they don't have to take you away
No they don't have to take you away
No they don't have to take you away
(That's breaking away again)
No they don't have to take you away
The lyrics of Medicine's song "Time Baby III" evoke a sense of inner turmoil and the constant battle between light and darkness within one's mind. The opening lines "Sometimes it rains inside my head, all the words run dry" paints a picture of a storm brewing inside the singer's mind, where the words that they rely on to express themselves are failing them. The following line "Walls are breathing, hands are reaching up to touch my thigh" adds a layer of paranoia, as if the physical world around them is also closing in, making it more difficult for them to escape their own thoughts.
However, as the song progresses, there is a glimmer of hope introduced in the lines "Sometimes it's bright inside my head, just like the spark in my eyes, and hands are breathing, ones are reaching up, cause that's the time we rise." The light is shining through, and the singer feels a sense of empowerment as they rise above their struggles and face their fears. The repetition of "No they don't have to take you away" reinforces the idea that the person does not have to succumb to the darkness inside their mind, and that they have the power to overcome their own personal demons.
Overall, "Time Baby III" is a commentary on the constant battle we all face with our inner demons, and how we have the choice to rise above them and take control of our own thoughts and feelings.
