Men I Trust
Men I Trust is Dragos, Emma, Jessy, Mathieu and Alexis. Founded in 2014, the indie dance band from Montreal, Canada loves smooth sounds, calm melodies and simple rhythms that relax, but make your right foot tap and your chin bounce on the beats. They record, mix, master and shoot their music videos.
Jessy and Dragos knew each other since their fourth year of high school. Back then (mid-2000’s), Dragos had somewhat of a background in classical piano and Jessy mastered the dark and esoteric art of the metal guitar solist. Jessy and Dragos knew each other since their fourth year of high school. Back then (mid-2000’s), Dragos had somewhat of a background in classical piano and Jessy mastered the dark and esoteric art of the metal guitar solist.
In 2012, while finishing his master’s degree in audio postproduction at Laval University, Dragos spent most of his days and sleeping hours at the “LARC” studio working on his solo projects. He randomly met Jessy again, who was finishing his bachelor degree in Jazz guitar, in one of the faculty’s hallways and talked about doing a French-Touch / Italo-Disco track together. Some weeks later, they did just that. And it worked out so well that they decided to extend their collaboration to a whole project where many singers such as Odile Marmet-Rochefort, Gabrielle Shonk, Helena Deland and Geoffroy Sauvé, would be involved.
Between 2012 and 2016, all of Jessy’s and Dragos’ releases were made as part of Dragos’ masters and (dropped) PhD studies in order to gain access to the LARC’s infrastructure and to develop a unique sound.
Emma was a fortuitous encounter. In 2015 a mutual friend presented her to Dragos through a video posted over the Internet. She was casually singing and playing the guitar around a campfire with some of her friends. Emma’s voice was different, being less clear, more grainy and fragile with a mysterious twist that caught their attention. They reached her and tried recording one song called “Out in myself”, which turned to be one of the band’s easiest to record.
Jessy and Dragos then invited her to join them on live shows with Odile at the beginning of 2015. The girls’ voices blended wonderfully together and the band got lots of positive feedback from the experience. Emma has been part of Men I Trust since then.
With their second album “Headroom", Men I Trust truly became a trio.

Show Me How
Men I Trust Lyrics
Show me how you care
Tell me how you loved before
Show me how you smile
Tell me why your hands are cold
(Show me how)
I'm turning around, I'm having visions of you
Then I understand
The friend I'm dreaming of is far away
But I'm here, I'm here
Show me how you're proud
Tell me how you reach the moon
My thoughts err away tonight
My heart fell to love again
(Show me how)
I'm turning around, I'm having visions of you
Then I understand
The friend I'm dreaming of is far away
And doesn't feel my love
But I do
I do

Ok so this might be really stupid but I wrote this story based of it, its literally the exact same thing
It was 6 am in the morning, I barely had the energy to get up. But, I forced myself to get up for school. Today, I didn't feel good to go to school. I just don't want to see the people I don't like, or some stupid drama to come up. Nevertheless, I arrived at school after a short journey. I came up to my friends, we had a small conversation. I was showing them a song I enjoyed in particular, and this girl that I like, told me that song was amazing and asked me the name of the song. Shortly, I went to class as soon as I heard the bells. Well, nothing else interesting in particular happened at school. My teachers just gave me many assignments that are due in a week..
And again, I wake up for a full day ahead of me. I prepare my books for school, and shortly arrive at school. I went to class for an exam I've been studying for weeks, I feel confident that I'll get a decent score. After some other classes, it was almost time for me to go home. But, I see my crush near the halls. I feel like talking to her, but I haven't gotten the chance to. I only glance at her, while she's passing by in a short matter of time. I walked a while and got closer to her because I wanted to have a conversation, but after a while I've realized she's talking to someone else I despise. My chance was ruined. I'm starting to loose hope.
Today, I actually found the chance to talk to the girl. I waved at her a bit, and she waved back.. she came to show me her nails she just got done a few days ago, we had a small talk after that. But, my teacher came to me saying I have to come back and help her clean a mess. It was so random, but that meant I couldn't talk to her anymore for now. After helping my teacher, I walk back home thinking about how today went. Well, I'm just pretty glad I got the chance to speak to her.
Some weeks later, she gets an injury while performing something. She didn't come to school for a couple of days, I surely missed her. When she came back, I had an extra snickers bar in my pocket and decided to offer it to her and she accepted my snickers bar. I bought some donuts for my friends the next day, and they were telling me to give my crush one.. I came up to her and nervously offered her a donut. She took my donut, and was questioning why I was being quite nice to her. I had no idea what to reply with, I panicked and told her I just thought she was cool. School ended quicker then usual, and I walked home with her for a bit. We had a small conversation between each other, I asked her if she had any plans today, I thought I could've gotten the chance to tell her! But, she told me she already had plans with her friends this afternoon. I just accepted it. After I came home I took a quick nap since I was pretty exhausted.
Today, I wanted to confess to her. I couldn't keep waiting. I wanted her to know how I really felt, so I was looking for her near the cafeteria, since she's usually there drawing. After a short while, I found her with someone else. Another guy. I didn't think much of it, and thought it might've been her friend. So I came to her and told her I wanted to talk to her, in private. She said sure, and after that, she introduced me to her new boyfriend. Yeah, boyfriend. I lost my chance, but.. it's ok. I can't do anything about that now. She told me what I wanted to talk to her about, and I told her I was trying to make a joke but didn't want to tell it anymore. She was a bit confused, but said it was ok if she joke was bad. I insisted on not telling, since I didnt actually make a joke. She accepted my opinion, and walked back.

@Yusepe 311 wanted to recommend Low hum(though I saw a few others their song comatose hits this same vibe), Night moves(I love the song colored emotions though can shuffle most of their music), McBaise (ALL OF IT), DOPE LEMON, and of course have to suggest Tame Impala like a few others have. Also recommend the group Ginger Root even though they aren’t the same genre

@Tomas Laborde love to see someone else recommending Low Hum idk why I thought of Comatose about halfway through this song, they have a similar vibe

This song perfectly describes the longing for love you've never met, for a person you're dreaming of your whole life but have never found.
Darn Devil
you are god damn right

Yeah I’m coming out of a 13 year relationship and we both had kids prior to meeting so we thought we knew what we wanted in a person. Didn’t work out that way, now at least I know the exact person to be with. This song kind of hits on that and I happened to come across it during my separation.
