This aspiring group of young, talented, and hardworking musicians have shared much success in the local scene, receiving opening spots on many major independent label tours including Columbia, Drive-Thru, Triple Crown, Fueled By Ramen, Maverick, and Doghouse Records with bands such as The Jonas Brothers, Halifax, Hellogoodbye, Houston Calls, Envy On The Coast, Patent Pending, My American Heart, This Providence, Jenoah, Jet Lag Gemini, City Sleeps, As Tall As Lions, Last Week, The Underwater, High School Football Heroes, Wired, and more!
Most recently the boys of Meridian Drive released their newest cd "When The Streetlights Come Back On", an engaging EP containing three anthems of infectious sing-along pop rock produced by The Veronica's own Rob Guariglia. The band has also been selected as one of the top 10 finalists out of over hundreds of submissions by Drive-Thru Records and MTV for MTVu's 2006 "Best Music On Campus" Contest and was also a featured artist on this year's 2006 MTVu Woodie Awards in New York City.
Additionally, Meridian Drive has also been ranked as one of the top 5 unsigned artists by New York City's 95.5FM WPLJ and has received radio airplay for "Sophomore Year Revisited", in addition to being rewarded the opportunity to open up for Bon Jovi at the 10,000 seat Mohegan Sun Arena in the WPLJ Opening Act Contest. Their contagious melodies have also ranked in on not one but two "Top 100 Most Requested" spots on 104.5 Los Angeles Radio, the #1 independent radio station in the United States, as well as various university radio stations throughout the north east.
Meridian Drive performs their wildly original three minute sing-along pop-gems influenced by bands such as Spitalfield, Sherwood, Mae, This Day And Age, Cartel, The Starting Line, Relient K, Houston Calls, This Providence, Copeland, Fall Out Boy, and Motion City Soundtrack.
