Animal
Miike Snow Lyrics

There was a time when my world was filled with darkness, darkness, darkness
And I stopped dreaming now
I'm supposed to fill it up with something, something , something
In your eyes I see the eyes of somebody I knew before long long long ago
But I'm still trying to make my mind up
Am I free or am I tied up

I change shapes just to hide in this place but I'm still, I'm still an animal
Nobody knows it but me when I slip yeah I slip
I'm still an animal

There is a hole and I tried to fill up with money, money , money
But it gets bigger 'til your hopes is always
Running, running, running
In your eyes I see the eyes of somebody of who could be strong
Tell me if I'm wrong
And now I'm pulling your disguise up
Are you free or are you tied up

I change shapes just to hide in this place but I'm still I'm still an animal
Nobody knows it but me when I slip
I'm still an animal

I change shapes just to hide in this place
But I'm still, I'm still an animal
Nobody knows it but me when I slip, yeah I slip
I'm still an animal

I change shapes just to hide in this place
But I'm still, I'm still an animal
Nobody knows it but me when I slip, yeah I slip
I'm still an animal

I change shapes just to hide in this place
But I'm still, I'm still an animal
Nobody knows it but me when I slip, yeah I slip
I'm still an animal

LYRICS

There was a time when my world was filled with darkness, darkness, darkness
And I stopped dreaming now
I'm supposed to fill it up with something, something , something

In your eyes I see the eyes of somebody I knew before long long long ago
But I'm still trying to make my mind up

I change shapes just to hide in this place but I'm still, I'm still an animal
Nobody knows it but me when I slip yeah I slip
I'm still an animal

There is a hole and I tried to fill up with money, money , money
But it gets bigger 'til your hopes is always
Running, running, running

In your eyes I see the eyes of somebody of who could be strong
Tell me if I'm wrong
And now I'm pulling your disguise up
Are you free or are you tied up

I change shapes just to hide in this place but I'm still I'm still an animal
Nobody knows it but me when I slip
I'm still an animal

I change shapes just to hide in this place
But I'm still, I'm still an animal
Nobody knows it but me when I slip, yeah I slip
I'm still an animal

I change shapes just to hide in this place
But I'm still, I'm still an animal
Nobody knows it but me when I slip, yeah I slip

I'm still an animal
I change shapes just to hide in this place
But I'm still, I'm still an animal
Nobody knows it but me when I slip, yeah I slip
I'm still an animal

Meep

This song gives me nostalgia, like a memory I’ve never had.

It places a picture in my head where I’m sitting at a table in the kitchen at my old house, with my feet hanging off the chair with my deceased grandmother sitting in her old tattered chair watching the tv perked in front of her. It was night, a summer night. I heard booms of the neighbors fireworks, I looked about age 7 or 8. With shoulder lengt light ginger hair.

I was wearing white socks with no shoes and a light vintage colored pink dress with ruffles lacing off the bottom, my face not visible with my thick hair covering it, but I could tell I was staring into the night through our open door, my hands where crossed on my lap and my knees where touching.

The table had a bunch of clutter on it, looks like old stuffed animals and tools. With bags hanging over the rims of the chairs.

My grandmother looked as her eyes were half set on the window besides her and her tv in front of her. Her iconic brown hair was curled as it usually was and she was wearing a long sleeved shirt and long sleeved pants.

I don’t know where I got this image from, but I only get it from this song, whenever I hear It looked exactly like my old house. It’s not a memory as I’ve never experienced that. It felt like a cool summer night in that picture

I love this song, and for some weird reason, I find myself relating to it all the time.

How I interperate parts of the lyrics, is:

"Nobody knows it but me when i slip yeah i slip , I'm still an animal"

I lash out sometimes at others, and it has a lot to do with insecurities, but also other various personal reasons, and I hide in crowds because I feel scared in them, I feel like an animal because no one seems to understand me fully, but not in a really bad way, not all the time at least. But I hide in plain sight, I hide my true inner self from everyone except for those whom have gained a LOT of my trust, but no one except whoever I get married to, will know everything about me.

But hey, no matter how you see the lyrics or interperate them, this song is absoultely amazing in terms of quality!

There was a time when my world was filled with
Darkness, darkness, darkness
Then I've stopped dreaming now
I'm supposed to fill it up with
Something, something, something
In your eyes I see the eyes of somebody I knew before
Long, long, long ago
But I'm still trying to make my mind up
Am I free or am I tied up?
I change shapes just to hide in this place
But I'm still, I'm still an animal
Nobody knows it but me when I slip, yeah I slip
I'm still an animal
There is a hole and I tried to fill it up with
Money, money, money
But it gets bigger 'til your hopes is always
Running, running, running
In your eyes I see the eyes of somebody of who could be strong
Tell me if I'm wrong
And now I'm pulling your disguise up
Are you free or are you tied up?
I change shapes just to hide in this place
But I'm still, I'm still an animal
Nobody knows it but me when I slip, yeah I slip
I'm still an animal
I change shapes just to hide in this place
But I'm still I'm still an animal
Nobody knows it but me when I slip, yeah I slip
I'm still an animal
I change shapes just to hide in this place
But I'm still, I'm still an animal
Nobody knows it but me when I slip, yeah I slip
I'm still an animal
I change shapes just to hide in this place
But I'm still, I'm still an animal
Nobody knows it but me when I slip, yeah I slip
I'm still an animal

There was a time when my world
Was filled with darkness, darkness, darkness
Then I stopped dreaming now
I'm supposed to fill it up with something, something, something

In your eyes I see the eyes of somebody
I knew before, long, long, long ago
But I'm still trying to make my mind up
Am I free or am I tied up?

I change shapes just to hide in this place
But I'm still, I'm still an animal
Nobody knows it but me when I slip
Yeah I slip, I'm still an animal

There is a hole and I tried to fill it up with money, money, money
But it gets bigger till your horse is always running, running, running
In your eyes I see the eyes of somebody
Who could be strong

Tell me if I'm wrong
And now I'm pulling your disguise up
Are you free or are you tied up?

I change shapes just to hide in this place
But I'm still, I'm still an animal
Nobody knows it but me when I slip
Yeah I slip, I'm still an animal

I change shapes just to hide in this place
But I'm still, I'm still an animal
Nobody knows it but me when I slip
Yeah I slip, I'm still an animal

I change shapes just to hide in this place
But I'm still, I'm still an animal
Nobody knows it but me when I slip
Yeah I slip, I'm still an animal

I change shapes just to hide in this place
But I'm still, I'm still an animal
Nobody knows it but me when I slip
Yeah I slip, I'm still an animal

Paul Ritter sadly passed last night, his contribution to the world was immense and he deserved all the praise he got for what he achieved.

Red Eye Stones

@Paul Elliott I forget about hipsters as well. I forget that ppl make comments, just assuming that everyone knows the context, without ever actually giving any context.

Red Eye Stones

@Paul Elliott and I wouldn't necessarily call it an attack. Just an observation. Not like I went full negative asshole mode or anything.

Red Eye Stones

@Paul Elliott well, when people make posts with no context, I have no idea. Guess I should try to be less cynical in the future. Sorry about that. Sometimes life leads us down weird avenues, that take us away from who we are. Life's been weird as hell lately, and I guess I forgot myself momentarily.

Paul Elliott

@Red Eye Stones you were the one who attacked the original post. Don't like it done to you, don't do it yourself.
