The group of kindred spirits now also includes Ivan Žigo (electric guitar), Lucija Potočnik (bass) and Igor Bušljeta (drums). Mika Male were mostly influenced by such bands as Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Tindersticks and Dirty Three. Their main goal is to make atmospheric, cinematic music with meaningful lyrics. They are at times very melodic but don't back away from musical chaos.
In 2006. Mika Male recorded and self-released their first album „Bijelo“ („White“) and in 2010. they were signed by Dallas Records and released their second album „Vremenom“ („With Time“). „Vremenom“ received high critical acclaim and was well received by the public. In the last couple of years Mika Male played at all the major festivals in Croatia (Rokaj fest, Hartera, Terraneo festival) including InMusic festival in Zagreb. In December of 2013. they released their third album "Gdje se sastaju luđaci" ("Where Lunatics Meet").
Determined to deliver atmospheric, lyrically and musically rich live performances of their intricately woven and intimate songs Mika Male rely on sometimes delicate and at other times dramatic interplay of the piano, violin and the guitars, backed up by their at once monolithic and fiery rhythm section.
"Tus’s vocals are deep and rich and not unlike a Croatian Scott Walker...Mika Male is a band that strives to be both different and beautiful." Eddie Cooney (Continental Drift)
