With the one that I love,
Thanking heaven above,
For you (For you)
In the morning I wake up,
With the one that I love,
Thanking heaven above,
For you (for you)
Does her hair and her make up
While I'm rubbing my eyes
Thanking god for this life
I live (I live)
In the morning I wake up
With the one that I love
Thanking heaven above
For you (For you)
Does her hair and her make up
While I'm rubbing my eyes
Smoke this blunt and get high
With me (With me )
(These days, they just fade)
(But we stay)
(All the same )
Lost in the world but I'm lost with you
Lost in your eyes what I often do
I don't give a fuck about anyone else
Lost in the world but I'm lost with you
Lost in your eyes what I often do
I don't give a fuck about anyone else
(I don't give a fuck about anyone else)
(I don't give a fuck about anyone else)
The lyrics to Mike.'s song These Days are a simple yet powerful declaration of love and gratitude. The singer wakes up in the morning next to the person they love, thanking heaven for their presence in their life. While the singer's partner gets ready for the day ahead, the singer takes a moment to reflect on their own life and express their appreciation for what they have. The second half of the song speaks to the depth of their connection, with the singer proclaiming that they are "lost" in the world, but they are "lost" with their partner, and that they do not care about anyone else.
The simplicity of the lyrics, with their repeating structure and emphasis on gratitude and love, communicates a sense of contentment and fulfillment that can be hard to put into words. The use of repetition, including repeating lines and the repetition of "for you," creates a sense of rhythm and stability, much like the stable presence of the singer's partner in their life.
In addition to the lyrics, the song also features a catchy and soulful melody, with a mix of electronic and organic instrumentation. The combination of these elements creates a powerful sense of emotion and connection, making the song a powerful testament to the joys of love.
