Bought this album when first released, almost 50 years on still sends chills down my spine.

They played a few dates at the Fillmore West. Bloomfield missed the last date like he did on this studio session. Elvin Bishop stepped in for the Live Fillmore stuff. a few years later they released a live double album of that material,. Al Kooper put in the horn sections after they recorded the tracks for the album. The live Fillmore stuff had no horns. Look for the 'Live Adventures of Mile Bloomfield and Al Kooper' for material from those live concerts. BTW Elvin Bishop and Blomfield played together with the Paul Butterflied Blues Band a couple of years earlier some great music from that lineup also.

Each passing year makes it more true. It was our fortune and privilege to enjoy the music of that time.

Amen to that statement

I did too, Kevin, and it still sends chills down my spine as well. I'm convinced that we lived during the most exciting, most creative era in the history of popular music...

Stunning, funky blues, so inventive... brilliant. I love that shriek at 0:37 and even better at 1:28. The ending is again strikingly funky.... never heard anyone else play like this. Surpasses his more conventional blues on the later Live Adventures.
