Mike E. Clark Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
And it seems to be in the horizon or maybe much farther
And I
I wanna be at the harbor
Where you can take me to the horizon and maybe much farther
And I
I am not a Kryptonian
And I know I should have told you
But with the melody in its Ionian
I say a prayer for the soldiers
Yei
Light it up
Put it in the air
Gon and make it spark
Lift it up
Leave it in the air
Shining in the dark and hold em up
Hold each other up until we reach the mark
Full of heart
All over the world
Spreading all the love now
Light it up
Put it in the air
Gon and make it spark
Lift it up
Leave it in the air
Shining in the dark and hold em up
Hold each other up until we reach the mark
Full of heart
All over the world
Spreading all the love
Keeng Keeng Keeng
In Mike E. Clark's song Outro, the lyrics convey a sense of hope and the desire to hold on to that hope, even in darker times. The singer references the sun, stating that they are holding on to it as it appears on the horizon or in the distance. They express their desire to be at the harbor, a symbol of safety and a place of departure towards new adventures. The singer also reveals that they are not a Kryptonian, perhaps alluding to the idea that they are not invincible or need help facing challenges. However, they find comfort and strength in music, expressed through the reference to the Ionian mode, a type of musical scale often associated with prayer and solemnity. The singer sends a prayer for soldiers, perhaps acknowledging the struggle and sacrifices of those who face battles on the front lines.
The chorus focuses on the idea of holding each other up and spreading love all over the world. The singer encourages the listener to lift their light up, whether it be a physical or metaphorical representation, and make it spark in the darkness. The idea of holding each other up until reaching the mark could symbolize the journey towards a goal or a better future. The repeated phrase "Keeng Keeng Keeng" at the end could be a nod to the reggae music genre, often associated with uplifting messages and positive vibes.
