The show launched in January of 2007 and has reached spots in the Top 25 as well as holding positions in the Top 100 of iTunes for several weeks at a time. It was the second show launched on the Quick and Dirty Tips Network; second only to Grammar Girl's Quick and Dirty Tips for Better Writing. When the podcast launched it was originally "Mr. Manners Quick and Dirty Tips for a More Polite Life" and the show's title changed to "Modern Manners Guy" in March of 2008.
The Modern Manners Guy provides short, friendly tips to help you live a more polite life. He covers topics such as etiquette, hygiene, formal occasions, and appropriate workplace behavior. The original host of the show was Adam Lowe, but Adam left the show in August 2008 and the new host, Trent Armstrong took over as host in September 2008. Trent is also a host on the Mannerscast Podcast.
During Steve Jobs' demonstration of the Apple TV at MacWorld 2008, at approximately 46 minutes into the demo, the Modern Manners Guy's (Mr. Manners at the time) was shown on the screen of the Apple TV listed as a "Staff Favorite."
In the August 2008 edition of Southwest Airline's Spirit Magazine, The Modern Manners Guy's Podcast was listed in the magazine's Diversions section.
