For some time now the ensemble has performed as a guest at important concert events and festivals, including the Herne Early Music Days, Bach Festival in Leipzig, Flanders Festival in Bruges, Bach Festival Philadelphia, Casa de Mateus Summer Academy of Early Music in Portugal and the concerts at Dumbarton Oaks in Washington, D.C.
The ensemble presents all sorts of different aspects of chamber music between 1600 and 1800. Some of its performances involve experimental forms of presentation such as the dramatic scene and dance. Musica Alta Ripa performed at the Staatsoper in Hannover "Giasone" by F. Cavalli, "Solche Wunder-Wercke" - a pasticcio of compositions by A. Steffani and prepares in these days "Purcell in love - die Sommernachtstraumoper", with the music from Fairy Queen by H. Purcell at the Festwochen Hannover-Herrenhausen.
The extraordinary CD productions of Musica Alta Ripa, all on the MDG label, have captured the attention of the press and public alike. Their recordings focus on Italian chamber cantatas, instrumental music of the French late baroque, chamber music and concertos by Bach's pupils, and a major series featuring Bach's complete solo concertos. In 2003 Musica Alta ripa started a great cyclus of recordings with Ouvertures, concerts and sonatas by G.Ph. Telemann.
The ensemble has been honored with the Diapason d'or (Leclair, Trio Sonatas op. 4: MDG L 3428), German Record Critics Prize (Müthel, Concertos and Chamber Music: MDG 325 0452-2), the Cannes Classical Award, 1998 (Bach: Solo Concertos Vol. 2: MDG 309 0682-2), the Echo Klassik Award 1998 (Goldberg, Chamber Music, MDG 309 0709-2) Audiophile Reference 1998 (Londoner´s Taste, MDG 309 0779-2), again the Echo Klassik Award 2004 (Telemann, Overtures, Sonatas, Concertos Vol.1).
The members of Musica Alta Ripa have been honoured by the Musikpreis Niedersachsen 2002.
