Natasha's single "Unwritten" was featured in the movie "The Sisterhood Of The Travelling Pants" and many different television adverts. It also served as theme song for the hit MTV reality series "The Hills."
Natasha has just released her second album, N.B. and the lead single is the hit, I Wanna Have Your Babies.
Her latest offering ‘Say It Again', the third single to be taken from her critically acclaimed chart topping second album 'N.B', is no exception to this rule. Natasha Bedingfield co-wrote ‘Say It Again’ with Adam Levine (Maroon 5), and co-produced it with Mike Ellizondo (Dr Dre, Alanis Morisette). An uplifting song about falling for that elusive one, 'Say It Again' is reflective yet upbeat, and romantic without being saccharine sweet.
Natasha regularly contributes to YouTube as "uknatashabedingfield".

Natasha Bedingfield Lyrics
I am unwritten
Can't read my mind
I'm undefined
I'm just beginning
The pen's in my hand
Ending unplanned
Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find
Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten, yeah
Oh, oh
I break tradition
Sometimes my tries, are outside the lines, yeah
We've been conditioned to not make mistakes
But I can't live that way, no
Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find
Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten
Staring at the blank page before you

This is an interesting story for me. On the one hand, I have long known and liked the work of Natasha (whose name - diminutive of Natalia - actually refers to the Birth of Christ) in general, and "Unwritten" in particular; and I see many people posting here find the words here inspiring and the song here meaningful. On the other hand, since being "born again" in Jesus and the Paraclete just over a year ago, I have taken a divinely-inspired interest in songs where - it feels to me - the Holy Spirit has been at work. The Holy Spirit is symbolised by rain, among other things, so when we hear from Ms Bedingfield: "Feel the rain on your skin/No one else can feel it for you/Only you can let it in" that is potentially a baptism/rebirth-in-Christ reference in and of itself.
(If we accept multi-layering of meaning in songs, as I believe we can, should and must).
Unfortunately (for me at least), this is the tangibly female-hormone-charged voice of a beautiful and attractive woman singing about skin and feel and so on, so in my case at least other thoughts and other levels get irrevocably in the way! Even the straightforwardly religious presence of a Gospel choir as chorus in the song cannot redress that balance.
Indeed, among the songs that I have identified and DO think carry a divine message, nearly all are from men. Not sure if that says more about the objective reality (explaining Jesus's typical, though NOT exclusive, choice of male Disciples), or about my reception of it!
In my analyses and searches, I have learnt firmly to separate the video from the song, as quite often videos seemed designed specifically to try to take the divine edge of wonderfully transcending pieces of art. Indeed, here too the video does have an inevitable element of sexuality (beyond the visible romantic love) to it, if obviously relatively subtle and in no way explicit. Interestingly, the British-version video features a more cerebral (if occasionally creepy!) tale of a book (with Natasha singing on its cover) using its ribbon-ties as legs and hands (hmmm) to climb up from a library past various classics to ultimately reach - for just a moment - a plateau in which a white dove is illuminated by the sun. The latter (coinciding not by chance with the lyrics "where your book begins, the rest is still unwritten") is obviously a clear and tangible visual reference to the Holy Spirit. The book in fact fails to climb up on to the plateau, but instead falls back after just a moment, scattering its pages (of Natasha's life?) through the sky, from which they are intercepted by people walking around on the ground.
In this case, then, it can realy be argued that the video augments the spiritual/religious content of the song...
However, in the British video too, we are treated to a first view of Natasha (probably - as faceless), sitting reading a book in the said library showing shapely legs. And when her face first appears it is with her also wearing some black and green halter-neck with a measure of decolte visible. All my life until just over a year ago, I would have taken the robustly earthly joy that is in that vivid attractiveness and hinted sexuality to make the most of the moment of lusty pleasure, before moving on.
Now God has indeed allowed me to move on, and put the lust (largely) behind me. What was a big part of my life now just gets in the way (note how even that sentence can easily be subject to rude interpretation, BTW - even though it was not my intention!!!)
And now I see and understand many things, including what Natasha seems to have been driving at here, but with the message sadly a bit muddied (for me subjectively, but perhaps also objectively) by more down-to-earth aspects. I am happy for others who can get past the first, superficial layer. Indeed, I congratulate them for their ability to focus beyond and be inspired. At the moment that seems beyond me, imperfect human being as I am. For a divine and transcending and unobstructedly pure experience, I will apparently have to stick with songs from males...
