But I'm not your toy, you can break and leave there bleeding
The damage is done, moving on if I'm ready or not
But you drag me through mud, here I come now
I'm petty as fuck (I'm petty as fuck)
I hope you never fall in love again
I hope you'll be yourself and lose your friends
I hope they call you out for shit you said
I hope you're miserable until you're dead
I hope you're miserable
So fucking miserable
I hope you're miserable
I hope you're miserable until you're dead
Been keeping your shit to myself
If I said it out loud, you'd be burning in Hell
And I can make everybody hate you
Almost as much as you hate yourself
But I won't 'cause (I won't)
I know (I know)
One day it'll come around
But fuck you for now
I hope you never fall in love again
I hope you'll be yourself and lose your friends
I hope they call you out for shit you said (you said)
I hope you're miserable until you're dead
The damage is done, moving on if I'm ready or not
But you drag me through mud, here I come now
I'm petty as fuck (I'm petty as fuck)
I hope you never fall in love again
I hope you'll be yourself and lose your friends
I hope they call you out for shit you said (you said)
I hope you're miserable until you're dead
I hope you're haunted by all your regrets
I hope they fuck you up inside your head
You know I don't forgive, I don't forget
I hope you're miserable until you're dead
I hope you never fall in love again
I hope you'll be yourself and lose your friends
I hope they call you out for shit you said
I hope you're miserable until you're dead
In the song "i hope ur miserable until ur dead" by Nessa Barrett, she expresses her anger and resentment towards an ex-lover who hurt her deeply. The opening lines suggest that the ex is still trying to destroy her world, but she is determined not to let that happen. She acknowledges that the damage has been done, but she is eager to move forward despite the constant reminders from her ex. Nessa's attitude towards her ex is one of pettiness and vindictiveness, as she wishes for them to suffer just as she has.
The chorus is a repetition of the wishes Nessa has for her ex. She hopes they never fall in love again, lose their friends by being their true selves, and get called out for any problematic behavior they may exhibit. The bridge reveals that Nessa has been keeping things to herself, things that could potentially ruin her ex's reputation, but she ultimately decides not to. However, she does mention that she knows karma will eventually catch up with them.
Overall, the song showcases Nessa's raw emotions regarding a painful breakup. She doesn't hold back in expressing her anger and hopes for her ex's misery, but also acknowledges that she wants to move on and leave the past behind.
