The band takes influences from several artists in the progressive rock/progressive metal genre, such as Between The Buried And Me, Devin Townsend, and Cult of Luna, as well as other various genres.
History
The band had several line-up changes before settling with Daniel Vornicu (vocals, guitars), Romain Jeuniaux (guitars), and Pablo Schwilden Diaz (drums). The group would record, mix, and master their debut album themselves, Ivory Dune, in 2014. Shortly after its release, Daniel Vornicu would find himself parting ways with the band, leaving Romain Jeuniaux to take over vocal duties alongside being the band's guitarist.
Romain and Pablo would move on to work on the band's sophomore album, Arteries, alongside two guest musicians; Thomas Clément on bass and Anthony Deneyer on harsh vocals. The album would be mixed by André Six and mastered by Tony Lindgren, seeing its release in 2019. Omnerod found themselves with a complete and steadfast lineup as André and Anthony ended up joining the band as bassist and vocalist respectively. This allowed for the band to begin playing their first live shows.
Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, Omnerod persisted and took the time to branch out and evolve, experimenting with new assets and pushing themselves with a variety of musical and technical challenges. They would end up releasing their endeavours as an EP titled Construction in December 2021, featuring various musicians such as Jørgen Munkeby, Nicolas Draps, Eerik Maurage, Sara Handerveyden, and Elisa Malki, aswell as a rearranged cover of Archive's "You Make Me Feel". Construction (extended edition) features the band's live performances of "Ascaris - Live", "Company Accepted - Live", and "Nothing Was Vain - Live" from The Progspace Online Festival 3rd Edition in 2021.
Omnerod continued to work on music and released a 3rd full-length album titled The Amensal Rise in 2023, produced by Julien Huyssens alongside André Six and Romain Jeuniaux, mastered by Tony Lindgren.
The band was then signed to Layered Reality Productions in 2024, with the first release under the label being their EP Panspermia in the same year, featuring two tracks: "Panspermia - Above" and "Panspermia - Below". The EP was a ten-year anniversary tribute to the closing track of Ivory Dune, "Panspermia", reimagined and divided into two songs.
Shortly after the EP's release, Anthony Deneyer would announce his departure from the band by the end of 2024, though offering to still be present in recording sessions. It was also announced that Pablo Schwilden Diaz would leave Belgium, causing the band to take an indefinite hiatus from touring. Omnerod would still, however, continue to work on music with a fourth album being planned.
