Their debut performance was in 1968 as replacements for the go-go dancing group The Go-Jos. Founding member Felicity "Flick" Colby eventually became the official choreographer for the band in 1971. The act went through several line-ups throughout their career on the show.
In 1974, they recorded a one-off single "You Can Really Rock'n'Roll Me" backed with a cover of the Rolling Stones "The Singer, Not The Song". It was produced by Mike Batt and featured guitar work by long-time friend and collaborator Chris Spedding with Cherry Gillespie doing the bulk of the vocals, and released on Epic Records (whom Mike would sign with the following year to release his own solo material). The song contained Mike's trademark of using radio friendly pop/rock with an orchestral backdrop, but was not a hit despite the promotion. Pan's People's last appearance was in 1977, in which they were replaced by a new act called Legs & Co. They were the first British girl dance act to make a record, predating acts like Banarama and the Spice Girls.
