Originally from Los Angeles and sharing time in Berlin of late, Patrick melds the natural and dreamy Californian soul atmospheres with a brute, hard-hitting and minimal drive of European electronica, and using his sensual musical framework to unlock timeless sound, crossing genres and utilizing influences like Led Zeppelin, Prince, Curtis Mayfield, and Roy Ayers, to Herbert, Radiohead and Ame. Along with an expressive vocal, he fuses their essence together into one turbo-sex-charged sonic cocktail, brooding and moody, yet engaging and electrifying, even uplifting.
The recently released The Soul Hunter album contains assorted musings on themes of heartbreak, future worlds, awkwardness and irony, all while maintaining a sensual electro pulse. Whether four-to-the-floor, broken beat, dub or atmospheric, it strives to deliver an exotic and unfamiliar, yet refreshing, take on electro. Patrick also released previously his "Lose" EP on Stereo Deluxe on vinyl in 2008, which includes a Henrik Schwarz remix, and has collaborated previously with Slope, Niko Schwind, M_Ferri and many others. As a multi-instrumentalist, he composes, arranges, performs all aspects of the music. A second album is forthcoming.
The live set transforms the studio material into a shifting, pumping, groove-laden soundtrack with a DJ/musician with a live singer--a relentlessly grooving and engaging two to three man show, bringing forth a musical, spotaneous feel to the tracks, keeping the danceability intact. Most tracks performed live are remixes of album material into club format, and along with that, incorporates on stage cover songs as bootlegged reworks, with Ableton Live as the software platform of choice.
