He is known for portraying authority figures on both sides of the law, and he is possibly best known for his roles as Paulie Cicero in the film Goodfellas and Sgt. Phil Cerreta on the TV series Law & Order.
Sorvino was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York City, the son of Italian American parents Marietta, a homemaker and piano teacher, and Ford Sorvino, a robe factory foreman. He attended Lafayette High School and the American Musical and Dramatic Academy.
Paul Sorvino Sings CD - This is a live recording. It features actor Paul Sorvino singing Italian opera, plus the occasional show tune, Irish ballad or Negro spiritual. He actually possesses a good tenor voice, from what I can tell (I don't know much about opera). There are also occasional instrumentals performed by the orchestra.
