I was able to befriend the great Pee Wee Crayton when living in California. He was a sweet soul and a very special talent. R. I. P. brother

Obviously Gatemouth Brown was listening to Peewee Crayton. I continue to be amazed by all of the great guitar players who have come from Texas right up to the present day.

I'd never heard Crayton before.  Wow!  I'm certain, by the way, that the great Chuck Berry knew this record.

@ElijahMFearon: I know what jump blues is. It makes up a big chunk of my music collection. Don't think the Beatles were particularly aware of it as teens or interested in it later on. Fifty-fifty on where they got that intro.

@ElijahMFearon : Not a fact, a deduction. Might be right, though. No "ripping off" involved. And if the Beatles heard this song as teens, it was a lucky break. They weren't that keen on blues.

@ElijahMFearon: Might've heard it, maybe not. Either way, using something from a song fourteen years in the past isn't "ripping off." It's how art works.

@ElijahMFearon: Likely never heard it. It came to them the way these things do. No "ripping off" required.

@shonenmouse Ahah! Yes Zat gleam, wow! ( sure he borrowed a lot, but who complains,). Hope you saw him on stage during his good days.
