Most of you will know of Pete’s musical pedigree but in case you are a recent convert, here’s the run down. Born in the Midlands of England, Pete started playing harmonica at the age of nine and progressed to guitar at the age of eleven. He was very soon gigging with his first band The Mason Dixon Line, playing clubs and school concerts. The big break came with the formation of Climax Blues Band. They worked their way up on the crest of the 60s blues revival in the UK and took America by storm. There were more than a dozen albums and a US/UK top ten hit with “Couldn’t Get It Right”.
The original band broke up in the early 80s and Pete went on to make solo albums and then to work on several TV and film scores including “One False Move” and “Filofax”. His guitar virtuosity was recognised by Hans Zimmer who used his talents on “Thelma and Louise” (Thunderbird), “K2”,"Drop Zone", "Toys" and "Calendar Girl". Pete was also recruited by ELO Part Two when they began recording and touring with The Moscow Symphony Orchestra. Much commercial work has followed but “Bikers' Dozen” is Pete's first CD release since "Guitar & Son" and the German "live" album "Livin' It". Peter has recently released a new Cd called "Live" with his band "Pete Haycock's True Blues" featuring "Glen Turner". This Album is a wonderful Mix of Blues/Rock music, and Glens vocals give them new life and feeling that you have to hear to believe. Our wish is for Pete's new band to become bigger and even more successful than CBB, and his latest release will prove to the world that Pete's style of Blues/Rock is a lasting one. if you liked him with CBB you will love him with PHTB!!
