Heard today about a film which tells how the Fisherman's Friends were discovered and signed to their record label. An excerpt of this song was played as part of the radio interview, so I'm glad to have found it on here. It's a grand bit of singing and you can hear every word, unlike so many of the so-called 'popular' music of today.

This reminds me of my holidays at whitby through the years, you got up early enough you would see all the fishermen going to catch the fish, then a few hours later they'd come back and take them straight to the surrounding cafes and chippies

I’ve gone to port Issac every year since I was born and it holds a special place in my heart with many fond memories of the fishermen’s friends I hope whoever goes there and sees them will also have a nice time this is also the song that brings me back there with that Cornish sea air and by the way WHOEVER READS THIS IS AMAZING

If anything, maybe Mumford and Sons has a Fisherman's Friends'- no, has a folkish feel to it. :/ But I don't really think so. And I'm pretty sure traditional shanties and folk have been around for a longer time.

But then again, I'm glad you like this. Maybe try listening to some more traditional folk tunes?
