Daniel has a deep voice and is tall, very tall and very sensitive. Daniel is a musician, violist and visual artist. Daniel is also Quixosis. The project has been dancing among his mentor's neurons for years now, mutating, always coming out in the right context.
In times of travel, unable to have a band or ensemble, Daniel decided that one option was to take hold of technology to continue making music, an activity to which he has been dedicated since he was eight years old. His spirit and his nomadic experience have made him take electronic but organic sounds out of the consoles. His search has been renewed with each new discovery, and so he has given shape to Quixosis, the project that houses his current curiosities.
Entering his sounds is like entering a dimension where there is wind and yellow and emerald atmospheres, there are also mixtures of sounds that for some feel wooded, even jungle-like. But, unlike the electronic music that fills raves and drives fists and heels, Quixosis walks towards downtempo, takes its time to breathe and transport us in a cloud of leaves. Quixosis is Ecuadorian, but he didn't live here all his life or listen to traditional music. It was his life experiences that planned the encounter between him and what he does today.
His current perspective is based on the use of advanced tools in technology, to explore the primitive, but above all: to throw himself into the void. This means not thinking too much about using local structures and investigating the characteristic Andean sound and shaping it with machines. It also leaves room to find organic, raw, precise sounds and build layers in 4track, similar to the way he creates his collages in visual arts. Taking information from anywhere - reusing sound objects - creating ambience. A mantra.
Quixosis treats sonic objects as elements of painting. "I paint just like I make music".
